Journal Your Christmas - Day19

More snow last night & more on the way. My feet have been cold all day and being cold makes me crabby. I have been very crabby today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Journal Your Christmas - Day 16

Today's prompt was Gratitude. I am by nature a grateful and thankful person so this was an easy one for me. I could have made a huge list but instead just chose to list a few. I am grateful for everything in my life right now.

I love this video. Mostly because it is so colorful but also because this took a lot of work and creativity to implement.

Journal Your Christmas - Day15

Well, I managed to get a little behind on my Journal Your Christmas project. Today's prompt addressed that issue and suggested just posting today's and go from there. So that's what I'm doing. I got "hung up" on the Christmas tree prompt. We don't have a tree up and I let that get in they way of my journaling. I took some photos of the trees at church yesterday and after I download them from my camera, there may be one that I can use. If not, I will take apicture of the tree at Joe & Kristine's house on Christmas day.

Isn't He Cute!

Monster_2months

I think he's about 2 months old here. He has won me over. He still thinks Sunny is his "mom" and purrs very loudly for him but I only get a few sputters. But he is sweet and has made himself right at home. I know if we had left him outside he wouldn't have survived. I think we did the right thing by bringing him in!

ScrapOrchard Template Challenge #5

This layout was completed for a challenge at ScrapOrchard. (click it to see the credits). I'm not entirely happy with this so I may redo it. These are all photos that were taken on Christmas day 2005. Only the large background photo was specifically of Little Guy. All the rest, he just managed to insert himself. He always needs to know what is going on!!

Journal Your Christmas day 7

Wow, I've kept this up for 7 days - which is 6 days longer than last year. I think it has helped that I decided to concentrate on the journaling and not worry do much about having photos that fit the prompt.

Journal Your Christmas Day 6

Today's prompt was to journal about your best and your worst Christmas. Thinking about my worst has me a little down this evening. It still affects me I guess over 40 years later. I wonder if my brother & sister even remember it. I haven't seen/talked to my sister for several years but when the past is brought up by my brother we don't seem to remember the same things. I think we each remember the things that affected us as individuals. Memories are strange things.

Journal Your Christmas - Day 5

This is my journal entry for today. It was a very productive day. I finished the bulletin for church. Tonight we completed a large portion of our Christmas shopping. That is a relief! It was snowing tonight on the way home - the fluffy, pretty kind of snow. It was nice.

One of my favorite songs...

is this one. It is so beautiful and so meaningful. It reminds me of the hope and love we have in Christ.

Winter Weather

Today's journal prompt was the weather during the Holiday season. Here in Iowa winters can be brutal with lots of snow, wind and very cold temperatures. Most winters there is snow on the ground most of the time between Thanksgiving and the first week or so of April. It can seem like a long time! Some times it is beautiful and I do like it for the most part. I just don't like driving in it! As a matter of fact, we have a winter weather advisory in effect for over night through tomorrow. It is not so much for the snow as it is for the wind that will blow the snow around.  Here is my journal page for today:

Journal Your Christmas

Last year I signed up for Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas class. I only partially completed two layouts and didn't post either one of them. This year I'm included in the class automatically and this year I plan to journal more than two days. Today journaling  is included on a scrapbook layout. It is a modified form of last year's "manifesto." I have found it difficult to get into the Christmas spirit the last couple of years. Bethany was the one who decorated and really got everyone fired up. She loved Christmas and it just hasn't been the same without her here. But in the spirit of the true meaning of Christmas (the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ), I want to "feel" Christmas this year.

Oops!

This post was intended to be my last one for the month of November but I guess it will be the first one for December. I'm pretty happen with how many times I posted last month. It wasn't every day but I posted more this month than all my other previous posts! I also moved my blog from TypePad to Blogger and was able to do some customization. For that I am grateful. I've also been doing some uploads to my Flickr account. Not much there yet but I'm working on it.

Here is a digital layout that I created using digital supplies from Katie Pertiet and a template from Pattie Knox.
